The relevance of the problems raised in the article can be explained by the fact that the Internet has become a powerful environmental factor that influenced the formation of the personality of the modern youth. However, along with positive effect due to the ease of using the Internet, the problem of Internet addictive behavior is becoming particularly important. Adolescents and young adults are more vulnerable to various negative influences because of the immaturity of their personalities. The article presents and summarizes the methodological approaches to the study of Internet addiction, combined with coping and deviant behaviour, identifies the aims, tasks, principles, and methods of correction of students’ personalities prone to Internet addiction and dependence on the Internet.
