In primary school, students should obtain a system of basic basic knowledge that is accessible to their understanding about the basics of the language that will enable them to express their thoughts competently through speech and writing in accordance with the literary norm, and also to recognize and prevent speech errors. This article analyses the content of the carriculum and the Serbian language lesson plans which covers the areas of grammar, spelling and pronunciation. To implement the basic requirements of the Serbian language teaching program, the teachers determine the amount and level of the students&amp;#39; academic load so that their lessons will help the students prepare for a coherent presentation of thoughts in spoken and written language in accordance with the norms of the Serbian language.
