The author places emphasis on such problem areas as the plurality of conceptual approaches in the research of the phenomenon of civic identity, terminological uncertainty of the concept and capacious content. The article provides a brief review of the previously developed theoretical models of the research of civic identity, as well as the author&amp;rsquo;s model used in the research of this phenomenon. To create a theoretical model of civic identity research, a ratio of two indicators was adopted: the first is the status of civic identity; the second is the content of its structural components &amp;ndash; cognitive, value-emotional, and behavioral. The proof of statistically significant interrelation between the status of civic identity and features of its structural components according to criteria of cognitive complexity and moral autonomy of civil consciousness allows to expand the characterological description of a status profile of civic identity. In accordance with the selected units of analysis, four statuses (states) of identity in which a person can be in the process of civil self-determination are characterized: diffuse, predetermined, achieved status, and the period of moratorium. Further, the article highlights the specificity of the subject of the research of civic identity as a psychological phenomenon, the content, structural-dynamic characteristics of the evaluation of the components of civic identity.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article analyzes the main conceptual and methodological problems associated with the research of the phenomenon of civic identity in modern humanitarian researches.
