The formation of the personality of a competent specialist who knows the language of professional communication determines the assimilation of language tools that are characteristic of a particular language subsystem. Since the language knowledge of foreign students creates opportunities for practical use of the language for the purpose of not only everyday communication, but also, most importantly, in the process of obtaining professional knowledge at the University, which is their main goal. The results of the survey of foreign master&amp;rsquo;s degree students, pedagogical supervision and interviews with Russian language teachers show that the primary task in learning the language of professional communication is to master the knowledge and capabilities of the scientific style of speech. The article discusses the issue of teaching the language to foreign students in the specialty of oil and gas production. The purpose of the article is to consider the elements that make up the system of professional speech communication in a foreign (Russian) language, which create a condition for the formation of a competent specialist&amp;#39;s personality, and also to show the multidimensional complex nature of this concept. The author presents the fundamental skills of professional speech, among which the main attention is paid to language tools, which open up great opportunities for the development of the speech potential of a future specialist in the field of oil and gas production.
