Psychotherapeutic communication is one of the most important characteristics of family relationships. Psychotherapeutic communication, as a rule, refers to loyalty to a partner, his acceptance, as well as empathy, respect, sincerity and congruence in relation to a communication partner. One of the main functions of the family is considered to be an emotional or psychotherapeutic function, it is this function that determines the degree of satisfaction with marital relations. To implement this function of the family, the coincidence or consistency of marital attitudes is required. The purpose of the study: to study the features of marital attitudes and indicators of communication in families with different levels of psychotherapeutic communication. Materials and methods: the study involved men (N=69) and women (N=129), a total sample of N=198 married people. All participants of the study were divided into 2 groups: spouses with high and low indicators on the scale of &amp;ldquo;Psychotherapeutic communication&amp;rdquo; (methodology &amp;ldquo;Peculiarities of communication between spouses&amp;rdquo;). The following techniques were used: &amp;ldquo;Features of communication between spouses&amp;rdquo; (Yu.E. Alyoshina, L.Ya. Gozman, E.M. Dubovskaya); a questionnaire &amp;ldquo;Measuring attitudes in a married couple&amp;rdquo; (Yu.E. Alyoshina, L.Ya. Gozman, E.M. Dubovskaya); &amp;ldquo;Methodology for diagnosing interpersonal relationships&amp;rdquo; (T.&amp;nbsp;Leary). The results: approximately 50% of the spouses who participated in our study have a high level of psychotherapeutic communication and about the same number of respondents have a low level of psychotherapeutic communication in a couple. Spouses with a high level of psychotherapeutic communication in the family are more characterized by such features of interpersonal relationships as dominance, energy, authority, self-confidence. They also know how to show gentleness, delicacy, empathy, care, affection, conformity and loyalty to the partner&amp;#39;s position, have a &amp;ldquo;famil&amp;rdquo; language and similar views. Their ability to take the initiative in solving problems, as well as the presence of their own point of view and the ability to defend it determines a higher level of psychotherapeutic communication between spouses. Spouses with a low level of psychotherapeutic communication in the family are more likely to show flexibility, search for compromises and constructive ways to resolve conflicts, submission and denial of responsibility. For spouses with a high level of psychotherapeutic communication, the sexual sphere in family life seems to be less significant than for spouses with a low level of psychotherapeutic communication. In families with a high level of psychotherapeutic communication, a less optimistic view of people and a lesser degree of importance of children in family life were found. Conclusion. The hypothesis that there are differences in the characteristics of marital attitudes in families with different levels of psychotherapeutic communication has been fully confirmed.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Introduction.
