The most important determinants of behavior and activities of a future professional are studied in the process of education, in the initial period of professional formation of young people, in the period of their entry into a new social situation of development, mastering the content of the new leading activity. The obtained results confirm the urgency of the problem which is important for high school, the problem of optimization of the process of training and education of psychologists: the search for the methods to create conditions opening the ability to effectively manage the development of professional orientation of the individual, in the structure of which the dominant variables would have been the motives and meanings of self-development, self-actualization, opening of a new, enhanced experience, helping people and willingness to accept help towards yourself.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article presents the theoretical basis and empirical results of the research aimed at identifying meaningful and dynamic characteristics and trends of a motivationally-semantic sphere of orientation of the individual of students-psychologists.
