This article examines the characteristics of a professional orientation of students of the Medical Institute of NIU «BelGU». The authors analyze the characteristics of the professional orientation of students-physicians and provide a brief overview of the approaches to the study of the psychological image of the modern professional. The article discusses the role of compliance emotional and evaluative components of the individual components of the essential meaningful profession that makes a variety of professional sound. It was found that the pattern of their own profession in medical students has been forming throughout the study at the university, and in the process of professionalization, one can observe its sophistication and specification. The data obtained can be used in the implementation of the principles of differentiated training, individualization of training process of students of the Medical Institute, as well as carrying out studies on the improvement of professional self-determination of the system.
