The article presents the results of studying the relationship of parenthood of fathers to their value orientations. The data represents the study of parental attitudes of fathers. The author gives a description of such attitudes of fathers to children as excessive emotional distance, excessive focus on the child and optimal emotional contact. The author considers the terminal and instrumental values of fathers, which are also characterized by a hierarchy of terminal and instrumental values of fathers with different emotional contact with their children. The author reveals the ratio of values and attitudes of fathers with excessive emotional distance towards children with excessive concentration on the child, and fathers are in an optimal emotional contact with their children.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This paper describes an empirical study devoted to the individual characteristics of the father and the fathers&amp;rsquo; orientation at building emotional relationships with their children.
