In the article, the interconnected and interdependent values of the content of education are considered (standard, the social and cultural, special); the education process (value purpose: formation and self-formation of physical culture of the personality; values means: the effective creation of educational process caused by competence and the valuable relations of the teacher to pedagogical and sports activity, professional personally to self-development); the result of education (valuable relations and competence of the personality of physical culture). The content of competences of the pupil (valuable and semantic, common cultural, communicative, personal self-government and special) and professional competence of the teacher (scientific and methodical, psychology and pedagogical, professional and personal self-development and special) on physical culture is revealed.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>For success of formation of physical culture of the personality in the educational process of school and higher education institution, it is important to understand the role of the values functioning in it.
