The article discusses the role of advanced training in the process of professional development of experts in the sphere of service and tourism. The emphasis on requirements of advanced training and its role in professional development of experts in the field of tourism is made. For the purpose of identification of advanced training problems of tourist business, some specialists and experts in tourism, hotel and restaurant business of Barnaul were interviewed. The conducted researches allowed identifying problems in advanced training of experts in the sphere of tourism and ways to solve these problems.
