The growth of personnel vacancies in regional symphony orchestras has recently affected almost all symphony orchestras operating outside the capital cities, actualizing the search for ways to solve this problem. One of the effective means of solving the problem of vacancies is proposed to consider the project-targeted management of career guidance work at the university of culture. The purpose of the study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the model of project-oriented management of career guidance in music education as a condition for the development of the personnel potential of the symphony orchestra. Methodology and methods: analysis of literature and information sources in free access databases; analysis of regulatory documents; statistical data; analysis of the results of an experiment on the use of project-oriented management of career guidance work as a way to solve the problem of vacancies in a symphony orchestra. Results: the mechanisms of overcoming the problem of vacancies in the symphony orchestra through the use of project-oriented management in career guidance activities at the university of culture are outlined. The prospects of the study consist in the possibility of introducing a model of project-oriented management of career guidance activities in the university of culture as a mechanism to overcome the problem of personnel vacancies of regional symphony orchestras.
