The level of virtualization as a criterion for the formation of the Internet user virtual personality
Introduction. Virtual personality plays a very important role in understanding modern virtualization processes. Virtual personality is the result of the process of interaction between personality and virtual space. Virtualization acts as a criterion for the formation of virtual personality as a system and projection of a real personality into virtual space. The purpose of the article is to analyze the psychological features of the virtualization process as a criterion for the formation of the Internet user virtual personality. Methodology and methods: the method ‘Index of virtualisation of Internet user by social services’ (Rasina E.O.), A.I. Luchinkina's method ‘Personality in virtual space’, the author's questionnaire to identify universal motives of Internet users; A.I. Luchinkina's questionnaire was used to identify the level of Internet activity; content analysis of respondents' accounts and the author's questionnaire to identify the content volume of virtual personality of Internet users; the author's questionnaire was used to obtain data on the instrumental competence of Internet users. Schoolchildren and students of the Republic of Crimea (n = 257), aged from 15 to 23 years (M = 20.06, SD = 1.79) took part in this study. Statistical processing of the results was performed using SPSS 26.0 software. Results: Correlation analysis demonstrated a significant statistical relationship between the virtualization indicators and the indicators of the activity level of Internet users (rxy= 0.661), indicators of consumer (rxy= 0.801), frustration (rxy= 0.706), social-actualization (rxy= 0.612) motives, indicators of creative motives (rxy= 0.704), indicators of creative motives (rxy= - 0.631), indicators of substantive volume (rxy= 0.700), communicative activity (rxy= 0.697), indicators of the level of instrumental competence (rxy= 0.832). Conclusion: the results of the study demonstrated a tendency towards increasing complexity of the components of the virtual personality in connection with the growth of the level of virtualization of the Internet user's personality, which confirms the previously put forward hypothesis about the significance of virtualization indicators as a criterion indicating the level of formation of the virtual personality of the Internet user.
